Financially Independent Retire Early… What?
Let's take a deep delve into this subject together. From definition to lessons and what can we take, as an average person, from this movement.
Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE)
is a movement dedicated to a program of extreme savings and investment that allows proponents to retire far earlier than traditional budgets and retirement plans would allow.
They usually aim to save 50%+ of their income. They can live solely off withdrawals from an investment portfolio, where most of their savings go.
They retire much earlier than the average person. Usually being able to retire within 7–20–30 years, depending on how much they decide to put away for investing/ saving.
What to invest in.
It difficult to say a group of people do this or invest in that, but from my research, I found that people in the movement usually choose index funds.
If you listen to anything I have to say, it’s a good idea.
Pros
They teach people about saving and for them (or us) to start thinking about it. After all, it’s not going to look after itself.
